We have discussed the benefits of Facebook chatbots, how to set up a Facebook chatbot and tips for making the perfect chatbot in previous blog posts. Now, let’s discuss how you can drive customers to your Facebook chatbot.
Facebook has several marketing tools built-in that you can use to drive customers to interact with your chatbot. Below we discuss just a few ways that you can utilise them to start gaining the rewards of having a chatbot for your business.
Change the call-to-action button on your Facebook page to ‘Send Message’
Changing the call-to-action on your page will make your new bot visible and easy for your customers to access. People won’t automatically think to message a page on Facebook, so making a call to action clear is important.
It is simple and easy for you to set up, simply go to your Facebook page and hover over the call-to-action button below your cover photo and select Edit Button. Edit the information or click Other Options to change to a different button type, in our case ‘Send Message’, then click Save Changes and you’re done!
Submit your bot to the Messenger discovery section
Submitting your chatbot to Facebook Messenger’s discovery section will increase the visibility of your chatbot to the general audience of Facebook. Users can search for the type of service they are looking for and immediately engage with your chatbot.
On your Facebook page’s settings, go to the Messenger Platform tab and scroll down to the Discovery Settings at the bottom of the page. On Discovery Preference panel click Set Up to configure the categories where your chatbot will appear and customise how it is described in search results, you can also select which languages you’d like to support.
Use ‘Send to Messenger’ plugins on your website
It is easy to drive traffic to your chatbot directly from your website. As they are already on your website, they are already interested in the products and services you are offering. This makes targeting for your chatbot a little easier, as you will already be getting traffic to your website and don’t need to engage them on other platforms.
Facebook offers code snippets to make it easy to set up on your website, so all you need to do is copy the code and paste it onto your website landing page in order to activate it. Your customers will immediately be able to see the messenger tab on your website and start interacting with it.
